Posted almost 2 years ago Does anyone have information on Sylvia rayfield review class? Do they really have a higher pass rate? I am so desperate that I tried ATI and Kaplan and both did not help me at all. I failed 3x now. I do not want to spend another $400 for a class that is almost the same as Kaplan. Any input will be greatly appreciated. |

Posted almost 2 years ago Dear EMONTESH, I am not sure which NCLEX you have taken, but I recommend Prentice Hall Comprehensive Review with Rationales/CD-ROM. They have PN/RN reviews. The book and disc contains over 5,000 questions, you need to understand why the answer is the answer. Most NCLEX questions are at the applied level, you have to know what the question is asking. The test plan is divided into 4 client needs, with 11 subcategories. The test is determining your competency to practice safely. I have never heard of the Slyvia Rayfield review class, but NL may have members that do. I hope my 2 cents helps, GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted almost 2 years ago Dear EMONTESH, Don't get depressed, but get MAD!! You haven't come this far to let the test make you doubt your abilities. You do know what's on the exam, CALM DOWN! You have to remember that as I said in an earlier post, the test is determining you competency to practice safely, that's how you have to answer every question. How would you the nurse deal with these situations? You always look at ABCs, Airway, Breathing, and Circulation. If given a Patient situation , who will go bad within minutes. I always looked at the stem of my question, like what is the highest priority breathing or bleeding, see my point. Don't overtire yourself before the exam, get plenty of rest. Do something relaxing after an hour or two of studying. Go in the exam saying aloud in your head " I WILL PASS"! If you see something you don't recall ever studying, just answer it to the best of your ability. Another thing I did was pray. I prayed night and day before I took my NCLEX-PN exam on March 26, 2011 at 2pm. Believe me, God is listening, so talk to him about what you want to accomplish on test day. Put all the worrying and doubt in our Savior's hands, he can carry the burden. GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted almost 2 years ago Thank you all. Your words of encouragement meant a lot to me. I do need to pray, a lot. Now please, what is the BEST book or review class that I can attend. I have about 3 feet of nclex books with me. I'm so overwhelmed. Somebody posted about the Prentice Hall. Did anybody else use that book? I'm already broke. Unemployed right now.

Posted almost 2 years ago I took the Kaplan course and thought it was well worth the money. But I did use a few other books. I used Saunders and Mosby. I also had an app on my iPhone that I used when I was standing in line. Good luck!
