Hi I am currently in school for nursing, and I wanted to know if I should go straight through to becoming an rn. Or should I become an lvn first and then find a job and go back to school for my rn degree.

Dear CBOOKER,

Becoming a LPN first will get you into nursing faster. LPN programs are usually 1 year in length, how much time do you have to spend on your education? How quickly do you want to enter the work force? These are questions you have to ask yourself. RN programs are 2 year programs. As I stated before, how much time are you willing to dedicate to pursuing your nursing education? I started my LPN program back in February 2010 and graduated February 2011. I'm now a LPN in Florida. It just depends on what's right for you! You may want to seek advice from some of your nursing instructors on what course you should take, but it will ultimately be your decision to make. I hope my 2 cents helps. GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
