Posted almost 2 years ago Well, today i went up to the college to finish up my financial aid papers and the place was packed. I sat for 2 1/2 hours but i got it i all done. Anyway, i felt fine before i went there and now that i am back home i feel horrible. The girl sitting next to me just happened to sneeze while we are all sitting so close together. She didnt cover her mouth or anything. I now feel queasy and have a headache. I also realized after i got home that there were so many people there and you have to log in on a computer and everyone there logged in. So i am thinking about all those germs. If i am getting sick from just a few people in an admissions office, what can i do to stay healthy while doing clinicals and things like that with people who are sick. I could really use some helpful advice. Thanks everyone. |

My advice is to get 6-8 hours of sleep each night. Buy you some of the clear germ gel, keep a supply in your purse, or carry a little tube in your pocket to all clinicals. Use plenty of handwashing, too. Stock up on Vitamin B & C-helps immunity. Can't express washing your hands enough. Advise all people who are sneezing that they need to cover their cough with the crook of their elbow. No one wants to get sick just because people want practice good, proper hygiene. Purchase you a couple of packets of EMERGEN-C, helps with immunity, my instructor recommended it to me when she saw me catching a cold back in Sept. 2010. Drink plenty of fluids-H2O, Gatorade, even cold popsicles if throat hurts. Use peppermint drops for nausea, it really works!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I use peppermint candy all the time, I have problems with motion sickness. I hope my 2 cents helps you, my friend!!!! Keep me posted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Posted almost 2 years ago Thanks Shonna and Theresa, I think all of that is good advice. I have seen the emergen-c but i wasnt sure if it worked. I will definitely will do all of your suggestions. I might have a hard time getting rest. I tend to stay awake to study cause i want to get the best grade possible and that usually means alot of study time and less sleep. But i do appreciate the advice. |

It's me again!!!! Forgot to include eating a balanced diet. Plenty of green, orange, red, yellow, purple fruits and vegetables-peppers, strawberries, broccoli, brussel sprouts, oranges, apples, grapes, and tomatoes. All these help with < inflammation. Eating healthy cuts down on sick days!!!!!!!! Don't skip meals, pack you some yogurt or raisins for long clinical days their energy boosters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember, AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shonna |
