So while I was volunteering at the hospital the other day one of the nurses told me about a friend of theirs that had recently gone to Seattle because he had become a traveling nurse. I googled it a bit and it seems like a very fun career option especially if you dont really have many commitments. One site (I think it was American Traveler or something) talked about 13 week positions with housing and benifits and travel reembursement etc. Has anyone ever looked into this or does anyone have any experience with being a traveling nurse? I think it sounds like a pretty fun thing to do.  Let's Discuss!!

I find in extremely interesting to want to travel the 50 states or the globe. I've find that it is a perfect fit as you said in your post, if you have no immediate responsibilities!!!!! I just don't know where I would start, so many places to go and see. I've always wanted to go to Greece, don't ask me why!!!!!!! GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a friend of mine that I went to school with that is a travel nurse.  She absolutely loves it.  For years she worked at our local hospital but decided she wanted something different so she started traveling and doesn't regret making the change one bit.  In fact - she has told me once I get through with nursing school and get a little bit of experience behind me to look her up and she would help me get into it as well.  My daughters are older now - one 20 and one 17.  By the time I get finished with school myself and work in the nursing field for a while my 17 year old will have graduated from high school and will be in college.  I have put my nursing career off for so long - now it is time for me to go for my dream.
