I got called into the office today to be told I am getting written up & dropped from the home health case I have been working for almost 2 years because the client said I hadn't done anything on my weekend shifts this past weekend.

Supposedly the client said that I

1) made her and her sister do the dishes

2) make her cousin sweep the floor

3) was writing a paper for school &

4) made her sister dust.

I know that what actually happened was

1) She washed the dishes without telling me she was done eating and I was doing other work.

2) I am NOT her cousins aide; he spilled food on the floor and he said "I will clean it up, it's my mess"

3) I was filling out the required visit reports do every Monday.

4) Her sister likes to dust because it keeps her from being bored and her sister told her that. Her sister also ONLY dusted while I was busy applying her(complaining client) vaginal medication!

In addition to the actul house work I did while I was VERY ill this past weekend!

Dear LILMSPUDDLES,

OMG!!!!!!! I'm sorry to hear about your situation, but I know you realize that this is a she said/she said conversation. I'm trying to figure out where the communication went wrong here-it seems to me, if you have an individual trying to come in and tend to personal/medical needs I would think you would be appreciative!!!! But unfortunately, you realize that you will have people that love to be in the thick of any arguement or disturbance!!!!! It sounds like she's just making something out of nothing-that's a shame!!!!!!!! All I can say is you know what really happened, and it's sad to see someone get written up an dropped due to untruths, but just tell your side of what actually took place, that's all you can do. I think that more than likely they'll give her to someone else and the same thing will occur- a leopard can't change its spots!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the client just wanted to get you in trouble, and so now her deed is done!!!!! I'm usually for the clients, but right is just right!!!!! You don't make problems where there really never was any-you where there for 2 years, now all of a sudden, you're not doing your job-come on!!!!! Who they  trying to kid-just complete bs on your office's part!!!! Forgive me if I sounded harsh, but that's how I feel!!!!!! I hope my 2 cents helps!!!!!!  My name is Shonna L. Potter, LPN or 09157238!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It really stings when it first happens to you (getting burned by a client).

I was dropped from a case because the over-protective mother thought that was not caring and compassionate enough to care for her son.  I did all that was required and even did a lot of physical therapy that was not required of me, but he needed.  It hurt my feelings.

I picked up another client.  Better environment, younger child.  Loved going to their house to work.

Sweetness dripped when the same mom was begging my agency to get me back on her son's case.  Nope, I was busy enough :-)

It is a reality of any profession, you have to deal with people.

Is it right?  Maybe not.  Can you fuss about it?  Sure.  Do you really want to go back there after this happened?

Look for a new client.
