I have been doing the VG injections and have it down. Patients love this.

My question is What if the site was missed and given into the low back muscle fascia? What are the possible complications?

I am not kidding either she went right above the back of the pelvis bone area and right into the low back muscle.

I ask because I witnessed a student doing this to our patient and am deeply concerned.

Thank you.

I would be most concerned if She hit a nerve.Happened to me,( 10 yrs.ago.) S/S may not present themselves until 7-10 days later,

though when they do,**it is the most excruciating pain to experience-> Pain scale,1 to 10? 12 !!! Always helps to brush-up on

the Anatomy for Injections/ Diagram, prior to doing so.Better than spending 12 hrs. in the ER, R/O Emboli.

Dear SJA,

It's so true-never hurts to brush up on injection sites-dorsogluteal,ventrogluteal,vastus lateralis!!!!!!! Hitting nerves has so many dangers-need to be so careful!!!!!!!!
