Scholarships & Grants for Nursing School

Posted over 1 year ago I will be getting some pre-req's out of the way starting Spring 2012 with the hope of entering the nursing program in Spring 2013. I think we can muttle through the cost of pre-req's (A & P 1 & 2, MicroBio) but it is going to be difficult to pay for nursing school without taking out loans. Are there nursing scholarships and/or grants out there that students can apply for?? The only thing I will qualify for after filling out a FAFSA with the school is loans. I need to find outside scholarships/grants. Any suggestions?????? |

| Posted over 1 year ago Check your local hospitals. Many times they have work scholarships and you agree to work for them for x amount of time, depending on how much money they give you. Joyce Harrell, RN, OCN

Would it also count for the pre-req's or should I wait to talk to hospitals after I get the pre-req's out of the way and I start the actual nursing program?? I will be focusing on pre-req's Spring and Summer 2012 and hope to start the program in Spring 2013. Just paying for the pre-req's will be hard, too. |
