I am a computer programmer but would really like a career change.  My wife works in the medical field and I admire her work very much.  I am thinking of working towards an NP or PA degree eventually.

My question is this:  I am about to start MA school next month.  Can I move from being an MA to becoming an NP/PA or do I need to get a BSN first?  Ideally I would like to work in the outpatient clinics like my wife, maybe in internal medicine or cardiology.
