I guess I should have done this sooner, but oops. Hello my name is Olivia. I am 20 years old, married with one child. I just started back to school, and it is really tough. I can't wait to start working again. I found this site by searching for something or another for one of my medical law projects. I am REALLY glad that I did find it though. I have had so much fun looking at everything, and I look forward to looking at my email everyday just to see what is new here. I wish that I could read and comment on everything, but I don't have enough hours in my day, week or month even... :). I want to thank everyone that helps out with this site because it is just so wonderful! Thank you!!!! :)

Olivia

I am new to this too and I love it. I think it helps stay in touch with what's going on in nursing.

I am going for my RN, but the school does it weird. I am in a CNA program that will allow me to take my NCLEX - RN. I am hoping to finish my degree the end of 2009 - beginning of 2010. I have to take it slower than I would like because I take care of my son all day everyday.

I am also glad that I found Nursing Link....it is nice to touch base with people who are "in the same boat" in many ways! Also some great articles/information on the site. Good luck in your studies, Olivia!

I've never heard of a program like this-could you tell us a bit more about it

I don't understand the way it works to well. All I really know is that the program is a CNA degree, and after I can take the NCLEX-RN. I just take the classes that they tell me to.

This sounds crazy-how can you take a CNA course and end up an RN? Maybe it's a bridge program, starting out as a CNA and progressing on to RN?

Hello, my name is Lisa and I'm an all around newbie!! I haven't been a CNA since 1998 and am nervous about even trying to become an RN, even though it has been my most prized goal all along. I did awesome as a CNA in nursing homes, but not so great at home care. I became too attached to my client and when she passed I decided to take a break, you know re-think my goals in life etc.Anyway single mom of 2 great kids,8 and 4 and getting ready to turn 31, I have convinced myself that I'm ready to conquer my fears head on and make my dream real!!!! I found this site by checking out info. for Grants, loans, etc. This is amazing!!! Thank you everyone who's involved!!!

Hi my name is Carol and I new to NurseLink and wanted to say Hello to everyone. This fall I will start an accelerated nursing (MSN) program and I am a little nervous. I know the first step was to get accepted into the program but I keep hearing the program is soooo hard/intense. Does anyone have an advice on how get through this type of program besides studying to death? I have always aspired to become a nurse and I have faith in God and the support of my husband but I don’t want to get in over my head. Does anyone know what it is like going through this type of program or how I can possibly hook up with a mentor to guide me? I am the mother of three boys and my husband has a very demanding career and I live in a city where I have no family to support me and I am trying not to become too overwhelmed. Again any advice would be great appreciated.
Carol
