Do Nurse Attorneys have to have a BSN or an MSN? I know they have to have a JD, but there doesn't seem to be much information on their nursing educational requirements beyond an RN license?

I wish I had seen your post 5 months ago! Anyway, if you're looking at this, I am a nurse attorney. I have a BSN and a JD. According to The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, in order to be a regular member, you must have completed the educational requirements necessary to practice as both a nurse and as an attorney. Keep in mind that most (perhaps all) states have laws in place that restrict the use of the titles 'nurse' and 'attorney' to people who are licensed to practice those professions.
Technically, it would seem that an LPN with a BA in English who graduates from law school and passes the bar examination could use the title 'nurse attorney.' With that said, I imagine that most employers looking for a nurse attorney are actually looking for a registered nurse.
So, other than the requirement that you have a bachelor's degree to get into law school, I do not see any reason that an appropriately licensed Associate Degree RN with a Bachelors in another field and a JD couldn't use the title 'nurse attorney.'
