Posted about 5 years ago Single mommy in South East CT needs financial help getting into school. Where do I go and what do I do to get started in nursing school? The company I worked for went belly-up and I now find myself jobless also, I am currently going through a divorce and have no way to pay back loans or pay for books or supplies. By the way, I have no idea what I'm doing. lol I just need step by step directions on how to get this started and keep it going, PLEASE!. |

| Posted about 5 years ago First thing you need to do is get your FAFSA filed. Talk to financial advisors at the school you want to attend. I know in IA there is a program for displaced homemakers and you could pretty much go to school for free plus get assistance with childcare, gas, etc.. Stacie |

| Posted about 5 years ago kendbeef said: I agree the first place to go is to the school you would like to attend & they can help you through the steps of filling out a FAFSA which is Gov't aid that you do not have to re-pay... they also can get you in touch with other potential scholarships. They also can let you know exactly what classes you need to take once you are eligible for entry & to let you know what their expectations are for you to get in their program (waiting list, entry tests, etc) just make sure you talk with someone in the nursing department on your class schedules. Good Luck to ya! |
