| Posted about 5 years ago maybe with the change we will be more respected and appreciated. many don't see the value in a lpn but we are a vital part of the whole team (cna, lpn,rn). so many get caught up in a title the cant see past it. in the little time that i have been blessed to be a nurse i have learned a lot about people. you can never let anybody define what u are worth except you. all in all, whatever you choose 2 do in this field be the best at it. |

| Posted about 5 years ago supernurse said: Supernurse, I so agree with you! Your one sentence saying, "You can never let anybody define what you are worth except you.", encapsulates it all. "It" being the entire profession of Nursing. I think we all got into this profession to 'help people'. Whether we are CNA's, LVN's (yep, a California girl here- Vocational Nurse) LPN's, (Licensed Psychiatric Nurses here) or RN's; we all work together for the good of the patient. What our name badge says does not matter in the end. Yes, we all have different assignments, levels of practice we must stay under, but when we drive home; did we work as as team? Did we all band together as those people that got into it for the good of the people? If I can say yes, I know that where I work does not make such a big deal about the letters behind our names. I do like the idea of the name "Professional" being used in our names as LVN's/LPN's. After all, I have a "Profession", I work in a "Profession", etc. etc. ...............makes ya think. |
