Hello Everyone,
I am a student at UTA taking patho. I am doing terrible in this class. I am studying the information. I study everyday. I made a 54 on the second test. I have no clue on how to master this information. We have 35 questions and 1.5 minutes to answer each question. I am having problems with being timed. I am having very bad test anxiety. This is my last prereq. I am thinking about dropping this class. Can someone please give me insight on how to master patho? or how to approach answering the questions correctly. I have no problem narrowing it down to two question. After narrowing it down I choose the wrong answer. I will be nurse. I am determined to make it.

Hi. I know what you mean about test anxiety. A lot of us in my class use ear plugs during tests. Helps drown out the noise and keep you focused. As far as how to study we used a book call "You Are Smarter Than You Think" It doesn't cost very much. You should be able to find one at places like Amazon.com. What I really liked about this book is it determined what kind of a learner you are and gives you tips on how to study. My learning style was completely different than I thought it was! One thing I do when I'm taking a test is underline the key concepts and disregard what doesn't apply. I ask myself what is this question really asking. I don't know what pathophysiology is...I'm assuming it is physiology? Does your instructor give you a study guide for tests? That really helps, too. Hope this helps....GOOD LUCK and Hang In There!

Hey I know everything can be a little overwhelming because of all the info. It really helped me to use Pathophysiology Made Incredibly Easy, which I purchased off of ebay for around ten dollars. Also, I think it is really helpful to get in and do NCLEX prep books. Stay focused and never give up! Good Luck!
