| Posted about 5 years ago It's just something that I've always wanted since I was in high school. I just never thought I would get the opportunity to go to school because I always had to work. As someone else said on another post. I didn't choose nursing, it chose me. Stacie |

| Posted about 5 years ago I wanted to be in the medical profession every since I was 7 or 8. My mom was working full time to take care of 3 girls and still found the time to go to EMT classes.(so proud of her)Anyway, when she was at work,my sisters and I would get out her books and look at the pictures. My sisters would get totally grossed out and refuse to look at them, but I loved them. I never got tired of looking at them and I even tried to read them(some pretty big words that a 7 year old didn'tunderstand),that didn't stop me though. I decided way back then that I wanted to work in the ER to help and care for as many people as I could. That dream still hasn't changed!!! ;-) |

| Posted about 5 years ago When I went into the military I was suposed to be air cavalry. When I arrived in country they were short medivac pilots and air medics so I got 'drafted". When I go out I figured I'd stay in it and see what it was like working on some one and NOT being shot at. To this day, it's really not that bad ;)
And verily, verily I say unto thee that some day it shall come to pass that from the earth there shall come a thundering roar, fire and smoke, and from the darkness, fire and smoke an Angel shall rise. Thou cannot speaketh his name for Hell follows him |

| Posted about 5 years ago For me, helping people is more like an instinct than anything else. I just DO it - if someone needs me, I'm there. Even at parties, when everyone's drunk, I'm there, watching over everyone to make sure they don't get behind a steering wheel, I'm there as they puke into a toilet, etc. When one of my friends was going through personal issues, I was there to listen to her and help her the best I could. When a little kid fell off his bike, I stopped, cleaned up the scrape on his knee, got him some tissues to wipe away his tears, and sent him on his way back home. Somehow, I'm always thinking about the well-being of others. Combined with that desire, I had a fairly strong science background in high school and I was fascinated with human biology (didnt' care so much for the ecology stuff =P). Anything my teacher taught us about the body systems I loved to learn about. From that, I decided I wanted to go into some sort of health care position and what better position is there than nursing? |
