I am 26 years old and have been married 4 years. My husband is in the military and I am a physician's assistant. We are thinking of starting a family. How do you juggle a family and a career. I want to wait till the time is right. But when is the "right time" or is there? If you wait till the time is right for anything, I guess it will never happen. Is it possible to have the best of both worlds?

Sure it is if that's what you want. Where there's a will there's a way....it will be hard at times but isn't anything that is worth having.

I have two sons and could not imagine my life without them. I was 24 when we had our first son, and honestly we were both concerned if we were ready. I'm not sure that there is ever a right time to start a family. Right now I am trying to finish nursing school and juggle my family life. Some days are easier than others, but no one has ever supported me as much as my three guys. Best of luck to you and your husband and God Bless!

It would be a whole lot easier if you finished your schooling then started a family.

Thank you so much for your input. You are so right, where there is a will there is a way. Maybe I should just stop thinking so hard and just let things happen. We will "sleep" on this one tonight!

I'm wondering why you'd change from a physician's assistant to RN. PA's are in almost as great of a demand across the country as RN's.
