Do school nurse salaries vary substantially by state? I was considering going into it 15 years ago when my kids were still young, but I found the salary level to be atrocious. In Nevada school salaries are pretty low, so I guess that is the root of the problem? They were only going to pay me $70 per day! Why would anybody work for that? How can they?

We're getting ready to find out about school nurse pay.  My wife has accepted a school nurse position at one of the nearby elementary schools beginning next school year.  After 16+ years of critical care (Picu, Nicu, LifeFlight, ER) this is her dream job.  The school system is superb and the benefits are well worth what we'll lose initially.
