Our school just started doing an entrance exam this year. We took it but it didn't count since it was the first time it was done. We have to take a HESI exit exam. On the practice test that I took I would suggest you brush up on algebra and the metric system. Learn how to do conversions by counting the number of decimal places instead of working out the problem long hand. I did really well on the test except I ran out of time on the math portion because I was doing everything long hand. I don't think we got to use a calculator. The questions that I did answer I got right. The rest was just pretty general questions. Have you taken any pre reqs yet? Hope this helps. GODD LUCK!!

Tests like this evaluate your comprehension of reading, writing, math, and general science. The school usually sets a benchmark for admission. The test usually takes several hours, and your scores are usually good for several years. Check with your program: if you don't score high enough to meet their admission criteria check and see when you can take it again to try and improve your score.

If you are currently taking classes that are Developmental Ed, wait to take the HESI until you finish the Developmental Ed classes. You are more likely to get the scores you need that way. Take any other pre-reqs as well as all this work will sharpen your skills before the test and you will likely do better. See if there is a study guide available; that may help as well.

These tests usually don't allow the use of a calculator.

I just took the HESI Entrance Exam about 2 weeks ago. It wasn't as bas as I thought. I made an 89.4 which is higher than my fellow classmates. Their is bio, chem, A and P, grammer, vocab, and math. It took about 5 hours and we could use a calculator, although the math was pretty easy you didn't really need one. I would def. take a chem, bio, and AP 1 and 2. I have taken all my prereqs and alot of the answers I learned from class. Good luck, and just stay calm.
