I know of some universities where I could go to receive my bachelors in nursing. The question is does anyone know if I could go to one university to receive my bachelors in nursing and start take classes to become a nurse anestetic?

I haven't heard of any online Ph.D programs. There was an article featured last week on online education and this site should provide some additional information for you.

You should also check out the Nurse Anesthetist career profile.

It is my understanding, (I looked into this for personal interest), that this is not possible. Check out AANA (American Association of Nurse Anesthetists) for more info, but CRNA's are MSN or MSA, thus you have to finish your BSN, and pass your masters to sit for the Anestitist exam. There is a reason they get paid more and there arn't any shortcuts.

Yes, you can receive your Bachelors in nursing from one school, and then apply to a master's program at another school to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

Is that what you meant?

And regarding a PhD - I've never heard of that for nursing. What sort of position would that be for? I

Katherine, A PhD Nurse is either an educator/writer or administrator. There are also DPN - Doctor of Practical Nursing, yhey usually work in research.
