Posted about 5 years ago I start nursing at this fall, at frist I have to take intermediate algebra and Introduction to chemistry but I'm really nervous to actually start the nursing courses. I have always wanted to do this, but I have heard so much about how hard the program is. Right now I'm in BOCES Health Careers class, this is my second year and we concentrate on Anatomy and Physiology a lot this year. I've been doing pretty good, but at the same time I find it really hard, especially when we did the skeletal & muscular systems, remembering every little detail was crazy. I'm definately willing to go through this no matter how hard, but I was hoping someone can just give me some good tips, on anything; studying, good books to use anything.

| Posted about 5 years ago The best advice I can give is to just take things in small pieces because if you look at everything you have to do....study....exams....journals, etc. you can get really overwhelmed. Focus on what you have learned and hang in there because it can be pretty crazy at times but soooo worth it! I use the Saunders NCLEX study guide but I also do all the NCLEX type questions that I can find anywhere. The one thing about NCLEX questions are that you have to use critical thinking skills...they're not like the questions on say your Chemistry exams. You will learn all about this in nursing school. You've chosen a great profession and I wish you the best of luck. Stacie |
