I am in nursing school at the moment and I do great on my test, but the problem I am having is at clinicals. I think I have anxiety or something. I want to try and find a way to time manage and get through all my tasks. For instance I have to do 3 physical assessments, chart them, find MD orders, get my meds. ready and give my meds all within a 2-3 hour period, and know whats going on with my other patients. I feel like i am being pulled in 50 different directions and I cant focuse. Anyone have any ideas or tricks that would help me? Thanks very much!!

Ok well first of all, welcome to the world of nursing, cause it doesn't get any better. It does get easier as you learn to manage your time. Decide, before you go, in the order of importance. ie; Check orders on patients first, write them down, with the patient's name and room number, check the medications, what time are they to be given, check on your patients, give meds if time etc. Do your physical assessments and chart them, after you recheck your patients. Just be flexible, in case something happens you can't do them in that order. This is not necessarily the order, you have to assess the order, it's just an example. Relax, smile and enjoy yourself.

Remember Cdnurse, I told you about the virtue clinical program they have at htttp://evolve.elsevier.com. They have alot of clinical practice courses, they will let you use it up to one year. I think the clinical programs, will have to authorized by your instructor though. They have alot of programs that they will allow you to practice on for up to one year, for free. All you have to do, is create a user name and password, and you are off to go. This will help you to gain good ground in your nursing program Latanya, Good Luck, and CD, They have some good resources for instructors also.
