JUST VOTE!! So many Americans do not and that's a shame. |

| Posted about 1 year ago I DISAGREE. UNLESS YOU KNOW WHO AND WHAT YOU ARE VOTING FOR, DO NOT VOTE!!! DON'T JUST VOTE! WE NEED TO BE EDUCATED AND UNDERSTAND WHAT WE ARE VOTING FOR! These two parties are so different from one another and our country is divided. This is a very serious issue at hand and we should not be going into this matter blindly. I do not support people like P. Diddy who say just vote or "vote or die". I think it's ridiculous. On the other hand I do want to let all of you know that my church as well as many around this country are praying every Thursday at noon for our country, our troops and the election coming up this fall. We need to pray and hope that whomever is voted in will make the best decisions for our country and our people. |

I agree with you. Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, worn out and screaming "Woo-hoo"!!! |

| Posted about 1 year ago The point I was making was about "voting" in general. I'm sure when people go to the polls to vote they have already made their decision as to who they will vote for because of what they stand for. I know when I vote I know what I am voting for. The point was TO VOTE. Some people don't vote and then complain about the candidate that was chosen. Everyone should vote and every vote counts and it can make a difference. |

| Posted about 1 year ago I really don't care who anyone votes for. What I do care about are those who don't vote and then complain about who is in office. So my point is, in case someone doesn't get it, don't complain if you don't vote. |

Why not? Is it because of his color? What do you feel about Clinton's endorsment? Do you feel it's genuine? |

I know for me it's because he lacks substance, he has a weak resume. Change? change for the better or worse? I want more than change, I don't want to change just for the sake of change...give me something! I don't think I see it in McCain either, but I don't see him taking the ship down as fast as Obama. Please don't pay any attention to my misspelled words or typos. Sorry I'll try harder next time. |

| Posted about 1 year ago "McCain has the better resume and I don't like Obama because of things he did when he first started the campaign and we started to get to know him. No American flag pin on his jacket and he wouldn't salute the American flag when the pledge was being said. Truly disgusting and unAmerican in my opinion.
His color has nothing to do with my decision. I think there is a lot of DIRT on his wife and that is why her thesuas from school is locked up until the election. His race is a different story because he's making himself out to be an African American which is truly is not. He's an American/Muslim. Muslim's wouldn't have my vote and that is my opinion and I am entitled to it. "
sap- you need to research candidates better before making statements as listed above- you are netitled to your opinion but it should be fact based- not spin email rhetoric...just my opinion

| Posted about 1 year ago I am now to the point that I wish the "hopefuls" would state their platforms and stick with them. It seems that depending upon which group they are talking to, they change the answers to fit the group. If they state one thing to one group of people, they should state the same thing to all the other groups of people they address. |

| Posted about 1 year ago Excuse me but I have researched the candidate. No statement I made is untrue and can be found anywhere. Thank you for agreeing that I am entitled to my opinion. It is fact based. I don't startt stories. Pardon me if I offended you while voicing my opinion as I mentioned in the original posting. Some people don't like to believe certain things can actually happen, while they have.
Obama has also spoke about him not wearing the American flag pin on television. He wears it now....................I WONDER WHY?! When in Rome, do as the Romans.
sap- please take a moment and view http://snopes.com/politics/obama/obama.asp- you may be surprised what you find regarding your statements about OBAMA... |

| Posted about 1 year ago sap- I'm sorry if I offended you in any way (hence the "gift" I sent)...there is no debate-there is only a concern that people and the media run with less than the facts and from this mis-information opinions are shared that only serve to spread the mis-information (and if you look back through this post you will see you are not the only person I have challanged), and I'm not just speaking of Obama but also of McCain- lies and mis-information flurish regarding both of them and their wives. And its my opinion each of us needs to challange not only others but themselves as well. Politics is not black and white but often gray, not right or wrong/not good or evil- its a blend, or perhaps at best compromise or the lesser of each. As to patriotism what one does or doesn't wear does not make one patriotic- the greatest patriots I know wear scars- physical and mental (much like John McCain) as their symbols of their patriotism, other's symbols of their patriotism are found on "the Wall", at Arlington, on the beaches above Normandy, at Pearl Harbor, and in the graveyards of thousands of towns and cities through-out the world. This too will be my final post on the subject, thank you for challanging me and hopefully yourself. Pax vobiscum. |

| Posted about 1 year ago Funny thing, I thought the entire purpose of this topic was to discuss and debate. A comment directed at one person, because of a previous comment by that person is a conversation/discussion. It certainly does not mean one is picking on the other. Another point I'd like to make is this. Each of us read things in different ways and may come to a different conclusion over what we've perceived in an article. I happen to usually read each word and not skim, so my conclusions may be different from someone who skims when they read. I honestly don't understand why anyone would want to be president. |

sap...Judging by the response that you laid on kayakrn7, I'm pretty sure you will be infuriated with me over what I am about to say but I can't stop myself from responding. I did not really view his posts as attacks. You simply commented about things that he believed warranted clarification and he provided readers with info to look into it themselves (as did you). I commend you both on trying to enlighten all of us. Only opinions and all that good stuff...however... regarding your statement that says that "he's making himself out to be an African American which he is not"...Uhhh, I'm dumbfounded...I'm not sure what you expect people who are mixed race (caucasian & african) to refer to themselves as? Please don't knee-jerk here...just not quite sure how you really meant this. Respectfully, Tara. (According to my research, muslim is a religion, not a race.) |

| Posted about 1 year ago Most of these posts were last year, so much has been decided. Obama will be the Dem candidate and McCain the Repub. Obama is too inexperienced, and what the left stands for is way off for my liking. McCain will be getting my vote. My best friend (another nurse) and I will be seeing him on 8/29 in Dayton (where we live).

| Posted about 1 year ago georgianurse says ... Hillary wants government supported health care. Be careful if you wish for this. it is not all that i t is made out to be by liberals. Just speak to someone that has lived in G. Britain or Canada. Many of their citizens come here for transplants, etc because the waiting list is so long in their countries. Bohemia says I am from GB and have experience as a nurse in both systems. No system is perfect however I believe that it is everyones right to good health care. At least in the Uk nobody loses their home or life savings so that they may have health care. It is catastrophic enought ot be given a cancer diagnosis without having to worry about how to pay for it. Or to have job with just 5 hours less than full time ,so that you have to pay 50% of your health care costs. I was for Hillary, the reason her healthcare plan did not come to fruition was because of the influence of the big insurance companies, Doctors and Lobbyists who were running scared at the thought of universal health care. Then they would have to give reasons for every unnecessary test or Why? any procedure or surgery was required. Every day there are millions of elderly put on life support who have no chance of any quality or quantity of life.It is a moneymaking business. Everyone was so afraid of the Clinton's getting back into the whitehouse why? He ran a surplus for the first time in decades. He brokered peace agreements. It was the Bush Republicans who lost everything that Clinton had realised over the past eight years and put this country onto a path that has led itThe USA to be villified around the world. After 5 years of investigation and millions of dollars spent on trying to "get" him on any scandal all they could come up with was sex. Let me tell you there are more sins comitted in the boardroom than there are in the bedroom. So he lied about the "affair" and was stupid to try and cover it up he was trying to protect his wife and family. Monica Lewinsky went into the White House determined to seduce the President. I am not condoning what he did, only saying Look at history to see the sins of all the other Presidents. Ronald Reagan was divorced and remarried, for what reason? Lyndon Johnston was the biggest womaniser Bush Senior was no innocent .Richard Nixon was aliar and a thief.JFK whom I was a great admirer of was a big womaniser, should I go on? Look at the sins of the Bush administration. 1. over three thousand dead young men and women 2. billions of dollars in debt for our children and grandchildren to deal with. 3. Chaos in the Middle East,.Russia, Afghanistan, Pakistan. 4. No sign of Osama Bin Laden.Bush went into Iraq to get even for his daddy. Bin Laden was from Afghanistan, ther was never a reason for going into Iraq. 5. Look at the carnage in Sudan why has he done nothing there, I tell you why , there is no oil. 6. He has stood bye while MUgabe destroyed his country, which was the one in Africa with the best economy and now it is totally destroyed. The Janjaweed committed atrocities, as bad as or worse that the holocaust, yet the Bush administrtaion did nothing. Why there was no oil. oops got a bit carried away didn't I. |

| Posted about 1 year ago You need to look closer at Obama he is very scary, would not even shake the hand of ONE soldier, I do not care what your view of the war is BUT those boys (my daughter included) are risking their life FOR OUR FREEDOM! The deserve more than a hand shake and someone who does not think so and does not salute our flag removes the flag from his private jet, has a hate mongral for a friend (his pastor) and a wife who hates america give me a break is all I can say. A busy RN is here |

| Posted about 1 year ago Let's not be naive about our political influences as far as voting goes in determining who the next President of the United States will be. I think that lesson was learned from the election outcome of Gore and Bush 8 years ago. You can still be the people's choice and not end up with the job! The Washington "Powers that Be" will determine the outcome. Still, it looks good to the world that we practice this democratic "ritual" of electing the Leader of the Free World. At least we keep our elections fairly civil, no overt bloodshed, no opposition's heads on sticks, everyone can have their opinion without fear of their tongues being cut out. No massive genocides of republicans or democrates by the opposing party. So, we really are lucky to be able to participate, albeit a exercise in futility at best.

Again folks- don't listen to the emails, the negative commercials, the childish name calling, the "I'm more patriotic than you", the myths, etc- check out the facts on any of the urban myth websites (ex snopes.com)...why are we continuing as educated nurses to listen to "fear mongering"? Go to the candidates web sites, print off their plans and compare side to side....leave the mud slinging to the children! |

| Posted about 1 year ago I think some people would find any reason not to vote for a half black candidate. Obama wasn't my first choice but some of these accusations are ridiculous. No one person can be everything to everybody, Just because it's on a web site or in a editorial don't make it the eleventh commandment. What is important to you? Who reps your concerns ? It's easier to believe what we already want to believe. |

Have a great Labor Day.....thank heavens for those labor unions...and DOUBLE TIME!!!!! lundellhull |
