Posted over 5 years ago What suggestions do you have for overcoming the devastation of waking up and learning your hospital of many years is closing leaving patients and community empty. How do you move forward? |

| Posted over 5 years ago I am so sorry to hear that. There have been so many hospitals closing lately. Seems to me they are the hospitals that are located in areas where access to health care is already a problem. Give yourself time for the reality to sink in and then begin your search for employment. You are in a city where you should not have any problem finding another job. |

| Posted over 5 years ago cd is right on the money here. However, I would add something else: think outside the box when looking for a new job. If you rush to other local hospitals you may find yourself competing with your former peers for those jobs. Look in other areas: home health, public health, hospice, corrections, school nursing, traveling, nursing education, industrial health. There's a nursing shortage on: jobs are out there. |
