Posted about 5 years ago I am in my first semester of (associates degree) nursing school. Next semester I am not taking all the classes most people are. I am only taking 2 instead of 3. I will have to take the 3rd class alone the next semester which will be so much easier on me. I have to work. Therefore, I will be set back another semester and will graduate with another class. Does this happen often? Any suggestions, advice, or comments? |

| Posted about 5 years ago I think everyone takes their own path throughout Nursing school. I have been taking classes off and on for 7 years now to get my BSN. I will hopefully graduate in December 2008. Don't stress about it only taking one more semester. I think it is better for you to take on the schedule you know you can handle with work, rather than become overwhelmed. Best of Luck!! |

I too graduated with a different class.. and yes many who have lives outside of school tend to take there time getting through school. It is not unheard of taking a couple of classes here and there. You do what is right for you and it will all work out... I am glad that i decided to take a year off and persue another degree while resting from nursing.. It was tough and i was burnt with it all.. It is challenging and a course load like no other.. So you do what you feel is right for you and you and only you know what you can handle. I hope that this has helped you out... Sometimes we all just need to know someone else out there knows what we are talking about and i can understand your worries. Just a personal note, i love this class that i am in... It is full of different views and new perspectives on nursing.. We have a good mix of younger and older students so it makes it very diverse... It has truly helped me open my eyes to ways that people across the life span can really help one another out.. Look at this as a a positive rather than a negative. Again, hope that this helps you and take care.. Jessie D :)) |

| Posted about 5 years ago I am thankful that there are many paths and sometimes detours along the road of life. Sometimes the detours make the trip. My favorite Robert Frost poem is The Road Not Taken. Take your path and make it work for you. Generic drugs are fine, Generic Life and Career Paths rarely are. |
