Posted about 5 years ago Well, the winter quarters are finishing up and Spring is about to start. Who is taking what this quarter and is anyone interested in having a forum where everyone can ask questions and pick each other's brains? I can always use an extra study partner and a unbiased opinion on concepts. Who's game? |

Posted about 5 years ago I am barely surviving A&PI. I plan to take A&P II in Fall and then Micro-Biology in Spring, of course these are along with the Algebra (yuck) and Composition classes I will be taking. But I am determined to become a nurse.

Posted about 5 years ago Star Bright! I understand how you feel! I took A&P II as an accelerated summer course (5 weeks)! I was fried! Then I took A&P 3 and micro at the same time... My best advice is to Breathe through it!! You can do it!

Posted about 5 years ago Star_bright said: What are you having a problem with? Maybe I can give some suggestions to help. I am taking both A&P 1 and 2 at the same time to get them done. So far, so good. Will be glad to help where I can.

Posted about 5 years ago You're talking about spring semester? It is almost ending for me! This semester I am taking Anatomy and Physiology 1, Interpersonal Communication, English Comp 2 (unfortunately this is required), American History 2, and Sociology! This summer I am taking Anatomy and Phyisology 2 and in the fall I am taking 2 nursing classes (that is all they're offering) and PE I guess

Posted about 5 years ago Sounds like your plate is pretty full for the next 6 months! I took 20 credits last quarter and that is why I am able to take a little break. I am waiting for the acceptance letter from a nursing program and then it will be back to the grind! Hang in there, it is worth it.

Posted about 5 years ago Algebra can be tough. I managed to make it through probability and statistics and boy I felt brain dead at the end of that quarter! Biology is not so bad. Speech can be fun, I had a blast in mine. My teacher loved to do improtus. She would hand out a box with a bunch of items in it and we had to make up a speech about it! Hope everyone does well.

Posted about 5 years ago I'm finishing up my Spring Semester...got one year of nursing classes behind me YEAH!!!! This summer I am taking Speech and Sociology (required). The SOC course is a 9 day accelerated online course. This fall I start my RN year with Adult Nursing and Mental Health Nursing. Only requirement after that is a phlilosophy elective. Already been through A&P and Micro so if anybody wants to pick my brain I'm game. Don't know how much help I'll be but I agree that we can all learn from each other. Stacie

Posted about 5 years ago Yippy, I don't have to worry about the next semester!! Six more weeks and done. I can not believe this, never thought I would ever see this day come. At times I wonder, there still is six weeks to change my mind. Then there's the NCLEX. Please don't pay any attention to my misspelled words or typos. Sorry I'll try harder next time.

Posted about 5 years ago I am finishing up my Spring semester now. May 5th is the last day. I am finishing up A&P1 and Intermediate algebra. I am not sure what I will take over the summer! Maybe A&P2 or College alg & College Chem 1. I only have those and statistics left and I can apply to the BSN program at the university. Congrats to squirmals and good luck on the NCLEX!

Posted about 5 years ago A&P is a tough one to take over the summer. Very intense because of the shorter time period. I wish you the best of luck!

Posted about 5 years ago I was going to take Chemistry this summer, at least I am thinking about it. Any ideas? Should I wait till fall? I know summer is alot shorter so it could be tough.

Posted about 5 years ago lizbaby75tn said: I am going to sign up for Chemistry this summer and my class would be just 8 weeks long. I suppose I can always drop the class if I think it's too overwhelming, before it shows up on my transcript. I say go for it. It beats getting on a waiting list and then you suddenly realize that you should have signed up for Chemistry after all. You can always drop the class.

Posted about 5 years ago lizbaby75tn said: Chemistry is easier to get through on a summer quarter than A&P. Just keep up in your reading and work the problems and you will do fine. It seems a little overwhelming at first, but you will get the hang of it. I still have chemistry notes if anyone needs help!

Posted about 5 years ago I am thinking about taking Microbiology during the summer session. What does everyone think? I have had some people say that it's really easy and some say that it was way too hard to take during the summer. What's the verdict?

Posted about 5 years ago In the summer, I am taking my Psychology and my Anatomy and Physiology II, so in August starts, all I will have to do is concentrate on Nursing 101. Then all I will have to do is Developmental Psychology and Microbiology the next summer, then I'll be done with my "general education requirements." I am trying not to have to take anything else besides nursing classes during the Fall or spring semsesters.....

Posted about 5 years ago Microbiology can be very hard over the summer because of the shorter time span you have to cover all the info and get the experiments done. But if you are not taking any other classes and can keep up with the reading and all, go for it.

Posted about 5 years ago Developmental psychology would be a good one to take over the summer. I did mine then and passed with no problems. Its the classes that are majorly in detail and intense that kill me in the summer time.

Posted about 5 years ago Thank you so much for your input! I think I will register for Micro during the summer. I just want to get it over with so I can start applying to programs. Wish me luck!

Posted about 5 years ago I decided to do it that way so I only have to concentrate on nursing classes.
