Posted about 5 years ago I went through a MSN program and completed all core courses but still had an “Incomplete” in Quantitative Research. I also completed all of the clinical courses and clinical hours in the FNP program. Then I took a medical LOA. When I returned, they said that I had to repeat almost everything-even classes like “Nursing Leadership” and “Intro to Advanced Practice” because I took them at the beginning and now the credits were too old (>5 years…but they were still teaching the same thing and using the same books!). 9 credits is a FT load in grad school and I was imposed upon to be taking 11.5-while trying to work. I am also a single mother of an 8 y/o with ADHD (very impulsive and defiant at times). It got to be too much-(and it sort of feels like it was designed that way as I was told that I didn’t belong in grad school at this time…my life isn’t going to change much over the next few years, so when)? So I left and decided that an on-line school would be better. I’m looking at some on-line programs but to get my transcripts evaluated, I have to apply to each one and it is costly. Plus, I want to see who will accept the most credits-I have >46 grad credits! Any suggestions? |
