So, I decided at the age of 42, that I wanted to pursue a degree in nursing. I just completed a cna couse at a local college. Am I to old to be taken seriously? Oh ya, I'm a guy also.

No you're not too old. I was 39 when I started my prereqs and graduated with my ADN when I was 44. So you're never too old to learn. Good Luck to you. I think the instructors actually like the older students a little more b/c they are more well rounded, dedicated and serious about what they are doing. No offense to the younger crowd. Good Luck to you.

I am strongly considering nursing at age 39 and I know that I will be in your shoes having some of the same concerns, I cant tell you how much it helps for me to know that you are doing this and others like you so that when I show up Im not alone! I do not think you are too old to be taken seriously,if anyhting your more well grounded. And I hope to join the many soon!
