Posted about 5 years ago I recently met someone who lost more than 100 pounds from an online support group....so naturally I want to see if this really works... Shortly after that, I talked to a friend of mine, a great doctor/researcher, who is way into the texting for health thing. That means using cell phones to get reinforcing reminders. THEN, the next day there was a big article in the local paper in SF about a site called the wellsphere? where they will help you so you can program your phone to send you text messages. Anyway, those are just good bits of information, but I would love to start working out more now and I bet a lot of other people would too....Care to join me?

Posted about 5 years ago I just joined a weight loss program at work. I haven't weighed in yet. I got dance dance revolution for Valentines day and have started using it to workout to. I am hoping to lose 30 pounds. I have had success with Weight Watchers in the past so I will try it again.

May I suggest that if you can afford it actually go to the meetings. Having to be accountable to someone really helped me plus they give you great advice and recipes. |

Posted about 5 years ago Lindora is a great program, but you have to have a good amount of money if your insurance doesn't cover it. It teaches you how to eat right and the right amounts of protein and carbs. I thought it was great! BUT THEN.....I gained all my weight back and some because I didn't stick to it. I just thought that I could do it by myself and found that I am really an emotional eater, so this support group will be fantastic for me. I am trying to lost 50 pounds and need to speak with someone before I grab a kit kat out of the vending machine when i'm stressed. Thanks for starting the group!

Posted about 5 years ago Oh my gosh, the other night after I left work I made my husband sit in the kitchen with me while I cooked dinner to keep me from sticking my head into the cupboard like it was a feeding bag! I'd love to go to the meetings, but time is the factor. To find time between work, and getting home to make sure my house isn't burned down is a chore. I know I need to make time, but if only time could make time for me! How often did everyone weigh themselves? I have heard if you take your weight everyday it doesn't help. I can see why with me. I like fast results. LOL. I WANT IT NOW! I can see myself, I have seen myself be disgusted and say oh screw it, I'm not going to lose any weight. How does that saying go anyways? A watched pot never boils? Well behaved women rarely make history - unknown

Posted about 5 years ago I have difficulty finding time to exercise and realistically it is so easy to just grab something to snack on while doing other things. I am and executive secretary to a sr vp at the hospital, a mom, and a wife, on top of being a student. there are not enough hours in the day to do everything and unfortunately exercising gets left out. I need to lose about 50 pounds and maybe through this support group we can do it together. It sounds like we are all in the same boat trying to find time to fit everything in.

Right before graduation I got hooked up with this guy whom now is my fiance and were going to be getting married next year. Let me back up for one minute. He used to be an italian chef and thats probably my weakest link, pasta, breads, etc. We moved in together and come to find out he can not only cook italian he can cook everything and I have put on an additional 15 pounds since. I think my happy weight was around 140-142 ideally I would like to weigh around 135 but right now I'm 167...ok 168. LOL. I have really let my self go. I joined w.w and it was really working but I guess I get bored with it bacause I donthave many to relate to. I'm going to try to start going back to the meeting this coming week, hell if i'm paying for it I should go, right?! Any way I would love to here about everyones progress. I know you all will do great! |

Posted about 5 years ago Good news! in two weeks of being back on weight watchers I have lost four pounds. I intend to keep it up. I do cheat on the weekends though when my husband and I go out. I have tried to exercise too, but I only did it twice last week. I hope to improve on that.

Posted almost 5 years ago It looks as though this support group did not take off. From January until now I have lost 27 pounds. I also quit smoking so it is a blessing that I didn't gain weight! I think that serious members need to keep coming back and giving support. This is my idea. How about those who are trying to lose weight report here once a week and give their results. That way you become semi accountable to someone and it might help to keep you more focused since you know you will be reporting your weight lose numbers. Anyone else have any ideas? Michelle

Posted over 4 years ago I would love to use this a support for losing weight. I have 30 pounds to lose and keep hitting a brick wall. I really have limited time to exercise. I have tried treadmill but it just took too long to lose any weight. I work MN's (12 hours) and commute 11/2 hrs each way to work. This eats into my extra time to exercise. I even bought the FIRM program and used it 4 times before it also became hard to fit it in. I really try to watch my portions and what I eat. Anyway, I think that this support group would be great if everyone posted frequently.....

Posted over 4 years ago I will love to work out but i never have time, I have to take my son to school, then I go to school, and then its time to pick my son up from school( he goes to half a day preschool), then I go to work. I signed up for balleys and never went, now I owe them money. My job has its own gym, and I havent been there yet. I want to lose like 20 lbs, and I need to start now
GOOD JOB!! I've been having a hell of a time this past week. My grandmother passed away last saturday. We were very close. I spent alot of my time with her as a child, and an adult. I had been taking care of her since Oct of 2006 at home, and that was a chore with having 4 kids, working full time and trying to finish up for my RN. I miss her dearly, but the point of this is...this past week I have been eating just about anything you put in front of me. Back on the horn on Monday! =)
