Hello all future nurses! Guess what? Well, if you check on my profile you will notice that I am still considering nursing. Well, I got a letter in the mail today saying that I was accepted into this congressional student leadership conference nearby. They just happened to have a medicine and healthcare program. This would be the perfect chance to see if I have what it takes to be a nurse! The only problem is that it is a little out of my price range (about $3,000). I know its a lot to ask, but would you guys be willing to help? I have a link that you can check out. (http://www.fundable.com/groupactions/groupaction.2008-03-19.8151320950). I'm not asking for money,(but please contribute if you are feeling generous because I am desperate!) I just need some support. Any fundraising ideas? The link to the website is pretty cool, but I'm a little discouraged because it hasn't been working very well. *sigh* Please help!

Check out these two scholarship sites and see if you qualify; www.scholarships.com and www.tafford.com/scholarship. Also check with the school to see if they have a payment plan. Talk with someone in financial aid. Don't give up there is money out there you just have to go and find it. Where there is a will there is a way. Keep the faith.

There are lots of grants and scholarships out there to pay for schooling. Check in with the financial advisor and www.fastweb.com. You fill out a survey and they match you with the scholarships. It is free. Good luck!

www.smscholarships.com is also another great place to find scholarships. It is Sallie Mae website.

Have you filed your FAFSA to see if you qualify for a Pell Grant?

Hey dude, I mean, we're here for you and all, but you need to look a little harder for the money! Nursing is in such great demand. There's bond to be some organization that can help you.

Hi everyone,
I just joined this group because I must work while getting my degree. Thanks for all of the valuable ideas on scholarships and grants. If I can qualify, financial assistance would be great.

Are scholarships the only thing available if I don't qualify on the fafsa? My husband and I make too much money with our combined income, but are barely making it to pay for school. I am now considering quitting work and becoming a full time student. Any other suggestions on how to make up the difference in income? Flexible part time jobs? other means of funds? Any help is much appreciated....

Here's my advice pd, pay off all your credit cards and only use them in an emergency and then think twice before you use them. Sit down with your hubby and make out a realistic budget and stick to it. There are grants available, contact local hospitals to see if they would be willing to put you through school, with an agreement you would work for them for x number of years post college.
