Hey, for clinicals I have to pick up a pair of white athletic shoes... I primarily wear Chuck Taylors (the old-school canvas things), and I'm sure those would be hell on my feet for hours and hours, so I'm not sure what companies are good. Any recommendations?

Don't purchase cheap shoes, not when you're on your feet daily for hours. Just go shopping, try on shoes after you've been walking for awhile. Buy ones that feel good after you've been walking the mall for an hour or so.

I would advise getting something leather too that can be cleaned a little easier. Stay away from cloth/canvas type that if something (body fluid) is splashed on your shoes it may soak through to your foot.

I got a pair of K-Swiss shoes and they did the trick. They lasted through my 2 years of clinicals, but the pair of Nursemates I bought recently are even more comfortable. They aren't as stylish, but I think comfort is more important. Just make sure they are easily cleaned off. You can get A LOT of unidentified substances on your shoes. Good luck!
