I put together a new article on federal money for nursing education. It concentrates on the NSP scholarship that the HRSA offers. Has anybody ever applied/received this award? If so, what was the process like? What about other federal grants/scholarships for nurses?

In the state of florida there is a loan with 3.5% interest, as opposed to 6.5% for a stafford loan. Your interest remains at the reduced level as long as you work in the state of Florida.

Interesting - I'm pretty sure Nevada has the same sort of thing. I know we do it for teachers. What states are the best? Does anyone know?

Well, Florida of course! Far enough to the south to not be southern, (I, like most Floridians, am a transplant from up north. I'm not sure ANYONE lives in Ohio anymore) and winter lasts about a weekend when the temperature drops all the way to 40! And with the ever growing geriatric population here there is no shortage of jobs. If you work in trauma there is always the extreme sports that go on year round and it's never too cold for donor-cycle accidents.

dmorse6- I know this post is old, but can you tell me how you get the reduced rate on loans? I just received my first disbursement for school (I am in term 1) and I did not get any reduction. =(
In fact, I had to fight to get a loan at all because I have a Bachelor's degree.

Any info you have is appreciated!
