I live in Ohio and I am currently enrolled in a Practical Nursing Program, from some of the rumors I have heard, hospitals are phasing out LPNs. I plan on working in LTC for a while after I graduate in order to pay back my obligation to my facility for assisting me with some of the tuition but I have always wanted to work in a hospital because of the diverse population of patients.

Some hositals are or have phased out LPN's, but there are still plenty around that will hire us. You just may have to look a little harder. Good luck with school.

Hi, I live in Ohio too. I am an LPN at the Cleveland Clinic and some of the units there are getting rid of LPN's except for a few. I am fortunate to be transferring to a unit where they will be keeping them. You can check out their website cause some of the other Cleve clinic hospitals throughout Ohio are still hiring them. Go to clevelandclinic.com and click on locations. They will give you all of them, you just have to click on each one's employment section. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Feel free to ask questions. Dina
