Has anyone ever done this? I just got rejected from BU, and I am qualified - What should I do? I have heard of people challenging admissions decisions - has anybody ever done this before?

Did they tell you why you were rejected?

Qualified isn't the same as MOST qualified. Nursing programs are competitive, if there is 30 slots only the best 30 get in. One thing that may help is studing and retaking your NET. Many schools waive the interveiw/essay etc. for students in the 99th percentile. As I recall your allowed 3 tests, so if you passed but could do better I would start there.

They told me in a letter that I was not accepted - to me that's the same as rejected. My tests scores were pretty good, but I guess not the best. Do you know of any schools where their admissions are not so competitive? I would really like to start school soon.

Look at all the schools in your area, call them or look online to see what the requisits are, how competitive it is.Often they can tell you how many people ask for admission and how many got in. What the lowest grade is for the cutoff or what tests can help you get ahead..

where I am there are 3 CEGEPs (colleges) that offer it in English (ADN) and one University that offers it in English (BSN, BN, MSN, RN-BSN)..

For me, the CEGEP system is cheaper and you get more hands on. I also needed it to be close to home, so chose the school that I liked the closest to me. It was actually my 2nd choice, but my first choice is too far, unless you have a car and even then...

I have gotten a CEGEP DEC from them after High School, so knew the school well. I actually only applied to the one school.

I plan on doing my RN-BSN after, but may do distance learning, not sure I want to do it at the University here.. but we'll see. I apply by March 1st, so I still have a little time!

I know that when I applied, 300+ applied for 130 spots. The following year was much the same but they took 100 only this time. This year I don't know how many spots were open...

It's quite competitive. I included a letter from my old boss at work even though we did not need one. We had to write letters of intent. I included that I had volunteered at the Montreal Children's Hospital, that I used to figure skate/teach skating.. Include things that make you stand out. Any awards won, or things that show who YOU are. No BullCaca, lol.

Good luck!
