Hi! I have been in Ohio since 1974. My dad was in the Air force, so I have traveled to many countries. I lived in Japan for 4 years, Italy 4 years, and have been to Germany many times, because that is where my mother was from. I have worked in a family practice as a cerified medical assistant. Had every thing from infants to geriatrics. I also did some medical billing for physicians at an invetro clinic. I also did some evening teaching at a technical school in their allied health department. Some of the classes that I taught were, pharmacology, medical office proceedures, transcription, and medical coding. I love the fact that in Ohio there are so many things to do. It has alot of parks, museums, and there is alot of history. Right now I am not too thrilled with winters in Ohio. Soooooo tired of snow. I also am not top thrilled with the ran of late either. All in all, Ohio has alot to offer, especially good people, great friends, and super nursing students.

1. How long have you been in Ohio? born here and been here my whole life

2. What background did you bring to Ohio? Ancestors from Scotland and Ireland, American Indian, so I am a mutt. I have never been out of Ohio except short trips to Ind and Ky.

3. As a Nurse have you ever worked anywhere else? No, Ohio only.

4. What do you love about Ohio? That I am here. Good affordable education, the spring and fall. Snow. Big cities and small rural communities.

5.Hate? HUMIDITY!!!!!

6. What would you like to discuss in this group? How to recruit more members for Nursing Link. It could be a real big thing.

I'm a former Ohioan.  Would I go back to live?  NO  Worked at Cleveland Metro General now known as metro health.  Great experience and I loved every single day of my 8 years there.  I do miss Lake Erie, some of the food and autumn.

2. What background did you bring to Ohio?  I was an OB nurse working primarily in Newborn Nursery and Post Partum; I also had been working for an Orthopeadic Group of 5 surgeons as their office RN and  Office Manager the year before I moved.

3. As a Nurse have you ever worked anywhere else? I have only worked in Michigan, where I took my boards and in Ohio.

4. What do you love about Ohio? Ohio is definitely home now and very much much like the State of Michigan..rivalries not included! I love the National Forests and Parks that surround me and all the nature trails.

5.Hate? I do  not hate anything!

6. What would you like to discuss in this group? The availability of PRN Nursing for those of us who no longer can do the 12 hour shifts!

I have lived in Ohio near Cincinnati, now near Cleveland, since I was 3 months old.  I am now 52 yrs old.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts (yes, Boston Irish..lol) and raised near Cincinnati with my father and his family from KY.

So I am Irish and Scottish.  I worked in law firms as a paralegal doing what???? medical malpractice...lol. 

I decided at the age of 49 to pursue what I had wanted since I was a little girl..... to become an RN

I love the 4 seasons here......and especially Lake Erie

what do I hate?  construction season...ugh!

3. As a Nurse have you ever worked anywhere else? Nope though someday i'd like to get into a traveling agency and work in TN or FL

1. How long have you been in Ohio? 28 years and 7 monthes (All my life)

2. What background did you bring to Ohio? Well let me see I was a welder by trate whent to nursing school to be a LPN, a volly firefighter, and I pay taxes  !!!  

3. As a Nurse have you ever worked anywhere else?  I haven't worked out of the state as a nurse yet!

4. What do you love about Ohio? To be honest with ya'll! I really don't like Ohio that well!! Before ya'll get upset!! I have lived here all my life and I really like it out west! My goal is to become a CRNA and move to like out west!! I just hate liveing here! I know alot of ya'll think it's a great state and all, it is it really is, but I just love it out west!

6. What would you like to discuss in this group? I really don't care I'm like my siss I can talk about anything! And yes Stretch (LPN Fire, my siss) can talk about anything except for spiders! HEHE!
