Posted over 2 years ago Not at the moment, but I've a few years of trauma in my portfolio. From the guy who nailed his shoe to his foot with a nail gun, to the considerably more traumatic cyclist versus heavy goods vehicle.

Posted over 2 years ago Yikes. I have tons of respect for anyone who works in Trauma. I don't know if I could handle that much blood.

Posted over 2 years ago I am an Army nurse, I spend a year in Iraq working in a Combat Support Hospital in the emergency medical treatment (EMT) section as a trauma nurse. I also served as a flight nurse and transported critically ill casualties to our hospital in Balad where our head and neck teams were located. I got back last October...I can't believe it's almost been a year already. In Iraq I gained an extensive amount of experience with trauma patients. It was both an awesome and humbling experience, some of which I would like to forget and some of it was the best in terms of professional and practical experience. Prior to that I worked in a small Emergency Department in California which was rewarding in it's own way. There we probably averaged one substantial trauma case every 3-4 months.
