Has anyone tried Alli yet? For anyone that does not know, it is an FDA approved OTC weight-loss aid (pills). I think it's works like Xenical. I am curious if anyone has tried it qnd if they had success or bad side effects.
As most of you guys know, my hubby has left for Iraq, and now I have 8 long months to loose so serious weight. HELP?? I don't want to start it without knowing the true facts, not the "media" facts.

I tried it and was loosing weight. One thing the side effects, I really was doin lower fat diet but the side effects were there when not expected. I also started it when I had just returned to school. So, nervous stomach from school and a potential side effect in white uniform pants at clinical...scared the p--p out of me. I wasn't brave enough to take the chance. I've been thinking about starting again since I am a bit more at ease with school and clinicals. One of the Drs I worked with said "yes, this drug works good. You are going to look great in your bikini, but if you pass gas in the pool you are going to have an oil slick all around you". Never understood until I started taking it.

Please don't pay any attention to my misspelled words or typos. Sorry I'll try harder next time.

Is it really that bad, even with a low fat diet? How long did you take it? How much were you able to loose?

I've read some on Alli on the web. It will make you have fatty stools. It was said you will have a "party in your pants" .

Not sure how old this post is....

I tried it a few months back and let me tell you.....If you do lose wait, it is because the food is lets say,"running out of you"

Even on a low fat diet I had stomach cramps and this gas war going on in my stomach. It was horrible. So I decided to just not try to diet. I walked my kids in a stroller/wagon for about 30 min. every morning. Then just incorporated more vegtables, fruits and water in my diet. I am not much of a red meat eater(just stuck with chicken. I usually have a hard time with wanting to eat at night, so I make a friut shake or eat a yogurt. I lost 20 lbs.

So bottom  line...I will never try it again.
