I am looking to get into a Nursing Program and I was considering doing the Kaplan University Program. I was wondering if there is anybody that can give pro's and con's to this concept, Or somebody that went to Kaplan (any Medical field graduate) I wanted to see how accepted the degree is in the workfield. Any help on the decision making would be appreciated.

Hi! I got shafted by them pretty deep. I jumped through hoops for six months, sold off possessions and moved to the next state to enter their school in San Diego, just to be told that they had to let two people redo their first quarter in place of my starting. Plus an 84% NCLEX first-timer pass rate, plus a class-action lawsuit by current students. It cost me 17 months to get back to a restart with a nursing school after my horrid experience with them. Talk to some grads first before committing to that school. I wish I had. I would have been an RN long time ago except for them.

I am about to start ADN with them and they put me on a waiting list for now, if I do not get in the July program, I have to wait until January next year, but they said I am guaranteed entrance because of score at NET. I am in South Florida, courses will be online and clinicals in hospitals in Broward County, total of 2 yrs program. I will let everyone know how it goes.

I honestly am not familar with Kaplan University. I don't know if these are two different things but I am signed up with a Kaplan program for a board prep program? I know going to nursing school is hard in itself so you need to make sure that is a fit for you. I did two years at a community college and transferred over to a a four year and it was great but then the Dean seemed to pick on certain individuals and since the school considered it a seperate "nursing school" they never helped. So let's just say I did an extra year of school. Really check it out. I am not sure but you might be able to check with the Better Buisness Bureau or get information about them that they have to give you; what are their passing rates, what are their attitudes with helping you find a job after graduation, and so on. I hope this helped.
