| Posted about 5 years ago I think wisdom does not necessarily mean someone who is old or older. I've met some very young with an amazing ability to sort, adapt and experience life the way it should be lived. One can be well read, etc and not have much or any wisdom. I also think there are different types of wisdom Wisdom can be said to be life's knowledge, a gathering of facts, experiences, acceptances and viewpoints. It can also be said to be inherent in some and sadly lacking in others. Wisdom is as difficult to define as love. It's ethereal, evasive and everyone will have their own definitions. Personally wisdom was learning to listen to my self, value my own opinions, continue to grow and experience life and most of all, when to guide or lead or stand back. Listening is also a part of my wisdom quest. It's learning to hear what isn't said, as much as what is said. |

| Posted about 5 years ago I believe wisdom is the accumulation of knowledge that comes with the experiences of having lived many years. So, in my mind, it does come with age. It is the sum of all the roads we have traveled, all the mistakes we have made, all the learning we have acquired, all the choices we have made, all the people we have met, all the things we have heard and seen-beautiful and ugly, all of our struggles and pain, all of our happiness and success. It is the sum of everything we have encountered in this life and through living and learning from our mistakes and mistakes of others, we end up with a better understanding of what life is about. It takes years and experiences to gain wisdom. Wisdom comes from failure, triumph, sadness, and a little madness. I don't think you can acquire wisdom without years. To be wise is to know oneself. And that takes a lot of years of experiences and searching. The young can be be smart, intelligent, seekers of knowledge but wisdom is something that can't be learned. It is acquired through the years of going about the business of living. |
