Well here's the fun and adventure I think I've been longing for in the past few years. In two years I am going to be a civilian again. I will have spent 6 years in the US Army, working in a non-medical field. I am strongly considering nursing, as long as the process doesn't render me homeless before I can actually begin supporting myself with my nursing income. I am in dire need of advice! My pre-military college experience was a blur, with a HORRIBLE GPA. Will I be able to overcome this youthful ignorance? I'm very worried I won't be accepted due to the grades I had 10 years ago. If the "me," of today, was to meet the "me," of 10 years ago, I'd kick my own butt. Any advice you have as current nurses, and nursing students, would be greatly appreciated. Even if it's just advice from someone who has gone from the working world to the full-time student world, that would be awesome. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I think, but theala will know far better than I, if you start from the beginning, take all the pre reqs required, your former GPA will not haunt you.

Nice name! I call my dogs that all the time. dmazment is right your new GPA is what will be looked at. Not your old one. There are a lot of shcools that offer online classes so you can take them and work. I had several friends that worked two or three days a week while in nursing school. They did ok they even went out once a week to the bar. you can do it

The current dilemma is now trying to figure out where to live! I've bounced all over the world the past few years, I'm in Afghanistan right now, and I'm taking some online courses that fall into pre-requisite land. I need to root!
