Yes, my facility does have a Rapid Response Team. It was started maybe a year or so ago. It is utilized too.

The nice thing about a Rapid Response Team is that most floors have the nursing staff very stretched. The team comes in, takes over alot of the bedside nursing for the sick patient, freeing the other nurse up for other duties. Statistics have also proven the number of PNBs have gone down, because these people don't have the opportunity to "Code".

This is one of JC's big national patient safety goals for hospitals. They've made a big difference on the inpatient units.
