Well i guess its pre-good news lol.

I contacted the hospital i would like to work at when i graduate oooh in 2010 lol...because i was wondering if they hired grads with no experience.. and they do!!!!!!!

I was told they hire 50-60 each year.... phewwwwww thats one load out of 758 off my mind lol

That is great news...but don't wait until 2010 to build your relationship with this hospital, make contacts now, network, look for seminars to attend, see if you can do clinicals there...so now you only have 757 loads to get off your mind! lol

lol true.. i just sent the head of nursing there another email to find out if i can do my clinicals there.

i had my baby there last august and OMG it was the best experience every.. my hubby laughs at me because i really could've left the next day but i requested to stay my full two because i was enjoying myself. all my nurses were angels.

can you call any hospital as an individual nursing student and ask to do clinicals or shadow a nurse

Typically your school must negotiate a contract of some sort with the hosptial to allow you to do clinicals. You can't do this individually. You can, however, call the hospital to inquire about shadowing a nurse. You will generally be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and will not participate in any actual patient care.
