Posted about 5 years ago I was looking into going to school to become an RN, so that I would later be able to become a Nurse practitioner. Is there anywhere in California in the bay area that I would be able to take a course at night to become an RN (not an online course) ?? Through my research I have discovered that there are LVN courses that I can take at night and then after that there are night time LVN to RN courses, but the LVN course alone costs $22,000. That's a pretty hefty price tag. I will get a loan if I have to, but it just seems really pricey to have to pay for that and then turn around and pay around the same for the LVN to RN course right after. Any advise in the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank You |

| Posted about 5 years ago I hear Elcamino Communty College in Los Angles California, and SouthWest Community College has night or evening classes. Good Luck, you are looking into the right profession. I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health. |

| Posted about 5 years ago I agree. Could it work better if you did home study up to the bachellors level then switch into the nurse practitioner it might save you some money and you would be able to increase your income while you work towards you ultimate goal. But let me not discourage you but note that nursing is extremely challenging. There will be many sacrifices made but when you leave work for the day your reward will be satisfaction for a job well done, helping others. |
