Posted about 5 years ago Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum and I could use some advice. I was in clinicals last weeks doing my check off and I froze forgot what I was doing and everything. I went to lab and went over the assessment tomorrow I go and do the check off with my instructor then I do it again in clinical this weekend. Does anyone have any advice on getting me through this. I feel bad for forgetting some of the most simplest things and then not even being able to find the landmarks.... ARGGG. My family sees me wearing my stethoscope and they go running. They know its time for another assessment. HELP!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Posted about 5 years ago Stage fright! it happens to everyone...so breath in, breath out, and move on....picture the procedure in your head, verbalize your actions as you perform the task, and if you miss something keep going, you can be honest and admit you missed something as it comes back to you and then do it! |

| Posted about 5 years ago kayakrn7 is right. We all get stage fright. I can remember shaking like a leaf the first time I did any skills check off. I still do. My instructors always told me that as long as you acknowledge the mistake you get credit for it. The more practice you get the easier it gets. And remember, there is more than one way to skin a cat! (the best advice I received!) Stacie |
