Posted about 5 years ago I am a single parent that will need a sitter when I am working. I would like to work in a Level 1 trauma center. I want to be a flight nurse. Areas I am looking at are Houston, New Orleans, Austin, Shreveport, Dallas, and Baltimore. Anyone from those areas, info would be appreciated. |

| Posted about 5 years ago I don't know about child care but if you are looking for information in regards to the cities I can help on a few. I grew up right outside of Houston in Katy but worked in Houston. Most areas are great you just have to like traffic because you will spend most of your day in it. Hermann Hospital in Houston from what I understand is one of the best trauma hospitals to be at. I also was born in New Orleans and moved there when I was about 20. Since Katrina the crime there is off the charts. It is also very expensive to live and the wages aren't all that great. The culture is wonderful though. My husband was born and raised and at times we think about moving back. Be prepared that when hurricanes happen that depending on where you go to work you may be put on lock down. Also, if you want your child to have a decent education you have to pay to put them in a private school. There is no money for public education in Louisiana and the proof is in the type of education received. I currently live in Round Rock which is right outside of Austin and I love it here. It is very clean and the traffic isn't that bad. I am still going to school so not sure about the hospitals here. Hope I helped a little in your decision and a few things to think about. If you have any questions about any of the places just let me know you can always email me. |
