I graduated in May of 2007 and am coming up on a year. I have taken my boards twice and sad to admit failed both times. I did better the first time than I did the second time. I now have this fear of taking them again. I've tried looking for a personal tutor but unsuccessful, I am doing Kaplan in July, and want to take them in August or Septemeber. As a nurse have any of you expierneced this before becoming registered?

I'm taking my NCLEX this June, and I know I don't learn a thing from just reading. My classmates quiz each other on nursing board questions so we get in the habit of thinking under pressure. If someone in your family could read out 10-15 questions each day, along with the rationales if you get them wrong, I think it will help greatly. I have experience failing my medical technology boards the first time and found it helpful to study with a partner for encouragement. Good luck to you.

I am not done with school yet but will be in a few months. My classmates said to buy NCLEX books and just start doing question after question. One of my instructors said this too. I plan on taking Kaplan also. Also I had a friend who took the boards twice and got hypnotized (I hope I spelled that right) and took it a third time and passed. She had severe test anxiety.
