Posted about 5 years ago I know for sure that most women want to be bathed by another woman, and most men want to be showered with attention by a woman. BUT , I am giving this reply concerning home healtcare agencies, not so much for hospitals or nursing homes. When you apply for a job give a big smile and a firm handshake and act excited.

Posted about 5 years ago That is so strange. I always saw being a male cna was an advantage, especially in the old days. Keep trying I work for a company that hires guys. I saw some in our mass orientation. HCR Manor care, they are everywhere.

Posted about 5 years ago I didn't realize that men have a hard time getting CNA employment. I'm excited and relieved to see men in the field! Some male patients seem to be more comfortable with a male CNA as well as their significant other. It's good to get help to reposition patients/clients/residents. And I heard that having males in the profession may eventually raise our salaries. I'm proud to have you on the team, welcome, and go get that position!

Posted about 5 years ago So many reasons this could be, but it's difficult to imagine it's a global problem. Could be your geographic area where this tendency may be the case, but also could be you. By that I only mean your resume, interview techniques and how you present yourself, or the types of facilities you're going for. Some places are kinda fickle...they only want what they want.
