Posted about 5 years ago I wanted to discuss any opinions out there on house homemakers have to deal with situational depression. Staying at home can make one feel isolated, leading to depression. As a stay-at-home parent, I feel the affects of being alone all day. What sources can help homemakers to feel better and lessen their chances for depression? What types of resources do we have besides medicine to deal with this issue? A good man loves other. A better man loves God. A great man loves God and lives well among others! I miss you daddy!

| Posted about 5 years ago I was a stay at home mom for about nine months while our family relocated( military). I was always working full time, going to school and raising two kids. When all of that stopped and i was forced to stay at home i was really depressed and under stimulated. You can only clean the house so many times. I found wonderful places to go in my community that i never would of had time to see with my old schedule. I visited museums, parks, actually got to go shopping by myself! I don't mind grocery shopping minus two children and a husband. I also found wonderful friends online. One thing i always missed was my freedom and the ability to sit and read a good book or to exercise when it felt good, instead of when i could fit it into my schedule. Walking is sometimes the best medicine in the world i have found. |
