How are you rewarded at work

Posted about 5 years ago I know that most of us do not feel we are rewarded for our efforts at work. i just read national statistics showing 62% of nurses say they do not feel rewarded. Let us take a little test ourselves. Let us write here how we have been rewarded at our work, let us see! We all get great responses from our patients that is what keeps us going, I am talking about rewards or positive input from bosses and peers at work.
I will start I once had my administrator give me a christmas card saying I was his best nurse and took wonderful care of our patients. This was a private note however. A busy RN is here |

Posted about 5 years ago My first rewards were the smiles and giggles I got from the residents. Second reward are thank yous from different persons involved in the care system. Third reward I got is the increase in my paycheck...and last but not the least...my being in the care industry is already a reward for me.

Posted over 4 years ago my reward at work and i know this will sound crazy.... is when someone passes and i personally have their loved ones callin me on my cell to tell me how much they are going to miss me and the wonderful care that i had given to their loved one. this just happened on friday. i worked the night before and had a man actively dying. well he passed away on friday at 11am and not only did i receive a call from the nurse that relieved me to tell me the news but i also had his hospice nurse and his sister call me and leave me a voicemail to tell me thank you for everything. i feel like that when someone is at that stage, that means more to me than anything in the world. as far as rewards from my job and from that staff..... thats the biggest joke i have ever heard in my life! ;)

Posted over 4 years ago Okay I think this proves my point, Nurses do NOT get recognized enough for ALL the things we. We need to figure out a way to fix this A busy RN is here

Posted almost 3 years ago We celebrated nurse week with games every day, I formed a committee of my nurses to decide what they wanted to do, they dressed up every day to a different theme, I had prizes daily and food for them daily. Everyone said it was a great week of reward. A busy RN is here

Posted almost 3 years ago our reward system at my hospital rocks!! its called the WOW system. they are little yellow papers that are awarded by managers and staff to each other for good deeds done above and beyond duty. these little guys are then tallied up for each person and turned into HR for movie tickets, $25 Visa gift cards , cafeteria vouchers and coffee cart vouchers!! its soooo nice! of course this is all before the advent and inception of the new healthcare bill .As i'm sure this will be the first program to go once we start losing funding for our medicare and mediCal patients but it was sure nice while it lasted!!!!
