Posted almost 6 years ago This article discusses how many new nursing students are starting courses while they are still in high school. What does everybody think about this? I wish these kinds of courses were around when I was younger. Has anyone been through one? |

| Posted almost 6 years ago We have what's called the CEGEP system, so after grade 11 you go to CEGEP for 2 years pre-university DEC or 3 years and you get your DEC in a tech or professional program like nursing. It's equivalent to ADN in the USA. So wehave 16-17 yr olds starting the nursing program and being RNs at 19-20 yrs old. Out of 130 in my year, there were 12 students out of high school, and a few others who had done a year or 2 of CEGEP in another program and switched over into nursing.
