Hi everyone! My name is Joy and I will soon be in Nursing School after one more semester of pre reqs and had a question. What can I start doing now before Nursing School to prepare? I'm making my self learn the bones an muscles. Is that a good idea? What else can I do? Thanks for taking the time to read this. :-)

From what i have read previouslyfrom other forums, it is suggested that u familiarize yourself with n-clex books and questions so that you know what to keep in mind through out nursing school. and by the time you are done you will be prepared and familiar with the question format.

For me personally, I found that taking a medical terminology course has been very helpful.  I wish I would have been required to take it before A&P because some things would lhave been easier to remember and unstand in general.  I wouldn't worry too much about NCLEX until you are officially IN the nursing program.

Study what you have and if you can access the NCLEX pre-tests, it will give you a good idea of what you will need to know. The library is a great place to access older med/surg books that may have once been used in a nursing program and sometimes they are good to refer to as well. Volunteer and pick the brains of fellow medical personel, they are a unending resource of information and encouragement. Good luck!

Pracice dosage calculations like your life depended on it. If a dosage class is availbale take it wether you think you need it or not. Not sure wether your going for your LPN or RN but it does not matter you will need it no matter what. Often times you'll have a dosage calculation class test every semester and if you do not pass it you are not allowed to move on to the next semester of clinicals. In my college you must pass with 100%.
