Since december 2008, nag apply naku for nclex, im an immigrant here in california, graduate ako ng MAy 2008 (Summer Grad). I had problems sa school regarding my trancripts and all pero na ayos na nong november, So december, nakapgpass ako ng trancript sa BON here, pkus all the requrements being ask by the BON. AS of january 1, 2009 nakarecieve ako ng letter na kulang daw ako ng Curriculum ng School ko? Mantakin nyo yon, BON is asking for the nursing curiculum of my school. So para di na magkaproblema, i went directly sa office ng BON d2 sa sacramento just to clarify things and ask why im being ask for a curiculum ng school ko (isip ko lang kasi mga classmate ko eh nagpass ng mga requirements nang kung ano pinass ko pinass nila except a copy of license and may ATT na sila.) Pagdating ko sa main office, they gave me a sample of a curiculum na pwede ko daw pag basehan... ill paste it after ko maexplain here.. tumawag ako sa school ko and ask mygf to figure things out kung panu ung hinihingi ng BON, nagsend ako ng copy tru email then papakita na lang nila sa registrars office ng school ko.. kakagulat, sabi ng school ko di daw nila alam ang gagawin? so WTF sabi ko...
heres a thought too: Why im being ask for a curiculum? diba?

| Posted about 4 years ago wow! you know what, i think it depends on who is assessing your files. i've heard a lot of different stories about BON asking for more stuff in order to have an eligibility to take the NCLEX. i'm just glad that when i idid mine i never had that problem. and you actually going to the BON... you should have told them that how come some of your school mates who filed to take the NCLEX was given an eligibility, passing the same things that you have sent them? anyway, wish you will settle that problem soon. GOODLUCK! |

You may have been born in California, but it sounds to me as if you went to nursing school in the Phillipines. What the BRN of California wants is you to be licensed in the country where you went to school. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago hey, hey, hey. I'm not alone in this world. I am a California native who also recently graduated B.S. Nursing in the Philippines. . . (from a not so prestigious school, lol). I believe the Calif BRN should give priority to these US Citizens and Legal US residents, and not give them the run around. Some of our Federal and State taxes goes to the California Consumer Affairs, to which the Calif BRN is an active agency. Sad to say, we've paid tens of thousands of tax dollars for the past seven years !!!!!!! and this was what I get in return. . . . a phony run around the bush. From my research, there are a LOT of non US Citizens/Legal residents who were given immediate eligibility to take the Ca. NCLEX-RN boards in just ONE (application) processing. NO hassles. What's more ridiculous is that even Non-immigrants ( foreign tourist, visiting the U.S.) were allowed to take the exams (for employment purposes) in the state of California, without any Social Security number and California ID/Dirver's License !!! Taxes please !! Very sickening, as I wonder, where did my taxes go ? maybe to process and IMMEDIATELY approve applications of Foreign Nationals to sit for the California nursing exams. ^$&^*^*&#@^. I am not against anyone but the people within the Calif BRN should do a better job , giving priority to these US tax payers and not give stories and reason of BULL ^$&*^@#. Remember . . a foreign (NON-U.S.) nursing license is NOT a reliable indicator for qualification to the Calif. nursing exams. In Manila alone, 42,000 Nursing graduates had to re-take (portions) of their June 2006 exams because of unspecified amount of cheating !! And this licensing agency had previous controversy, "described in it's history !" Medical boards exams, Engineering exams, Law, Maritime, Commerce, etc. etc. wheeww, Good Job CA BRN ! ! ! (hhmmm, did you know a lollipop is also called a sucker, lol) Hey, by the way who said "I'll be Back?" . . .Arnolllll !! "yah right, you'll be back to increase the sales tax ! !" N.B. 1. Citizenship and Immigration Status Verification Required for VN/RN Licensure The Federal Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act requires government agencies to eliminate “public benefits: to individuals who cannot provide proof of their legal status in the United States. “Public benefit” has been interpreted to include a license issued by a state. This means that all APPLICANTS for licensure as vocational/registered nurses will be required to submit verification of citizenship or legal residence status in the United States. 2. Disclosure of Social Security Number Disclosure of one’s social security number is mandatory for licensure by the BRN in accordance with Section 30 of the Business and Professions Code and Public Law 94-455 (USCA 405 (c) (2) (c). 3. Ca Board Members, Oath of Office The oath reads in part: "I, R.A. Terry, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties upon which I am about to enter...." 4. Pearson Vue location$$$ Worldwide, where the NCLEX-RN maybe taken. Au$tralia, Canada, England, Germany, Hong Kong-China, India, Japan, Mexico, $$outh Korea, and Taiwan.
5. April 15, 2010, dealine for payment of Federal and State taxes, lol.

| Posted almost 4 years ago I followed the advice and made a copy of my passport showing I was a US citizen and they still asked for a whole bunch of things... Copy of my passport, class schedule, RLE hours and with signatures, all transcript etc. So I don't think just by stating you are a US citizen and giving them a proof that you are is enough. But anyway, I just gave them a copy of all the things they asked for.. I mailed it on Wed. and by Friday I already got my eligibility letter.. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Hello! Please help me, I am so confused and I really don't know what step or actions to do. I am an American citizen and I just graduated last March 2009 here in the Phil. Iam going back to the US soon to apply for NCLEX but my friend called me from the US and she told me that i have to take the local board first to qualify for NCLEX. She also is a US citizen but she graduated here in the Phil. last March. She did submitted a letter stating why she didn't bother to take the local board here in the phil but BON did not acknowledge the letter they were requiring for a License here in the Phil. I read somewhere that they require other documents if i didnt take the local board in the country where i graduated? Do they need the whole copy of the passport if they require it or just my naturalization certificate? What other requirements are they asking? Does anyone experience the same thing? What should I do? Would you recommend me to go back there in the US or just take the Board here in the Phil first. I so confused please help. Thank you so much. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Just apply and make a copy of your Naturalization to show the US citizen status, but they also asked for the whole copy of the passport showing the 4 years you stayed in the Philippines, entry and departure. Also RLE with all the cases and signature, copy of class schedules, official transcript and that's it. I didn't take the local boards but got the eligibility here in California. But just make sure you provide everything they ask for. It isn't true that if you tell them you're a US citizen u don't intend to practice in PI etc. that you will get elig. Just read the thread and you'll see what everyone else did to get the eligibility. It all depends on who processes your application too, because some of my batchmates were required to give an official letter from PRC to show that they are not allowed to take the local boards. So really depends I think. Goodluck! |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Hey everyone! Just want to let those people applying know that it is not enough that you just send them a written explanation and a copy of yor passport. Try sending them a copy of your diploma attached to your written explanation with a copy of your passport and/or re-entry and your green card as well (for immigrants). I just sent those to the CABON and didn't experience any problems. Good luck to all NCLEX takers! |

| Posted almost 4 years ago hello there.. if you are a legal permanent resident, all you have to do is to send them a copy of your green card, re entry permit(if you have one) and a letter explaining why you don't have the local license.. that's what i did. i took nursing for two years in the philippines because my school credited most of my subjects from my first course(BS medtech) and right after graduation, i flew back here in california. I send them the requirements, wrote on the letter that my re entry permit is almost expiring so i have to go back in the US asap and absolutely cannot wait for the local board which are held ONLY twice a year.. after almost 3 weeks, i received my eligibility letter from ca bon. i just took the nclex last aug 11, and i'm still waiting for the results.. pls pray for me:) |
